inEvery Thursday I’ll be sharing more Pinteresting Ideas that were useful for me, and I hope they’ll be useful for you! Here are some of my favorite images and blogs from around the web that I’ve found this week and Pinned (click on any image to be taken to the pin).

The Importance of Practicing with Your Gun
This whole series of articles on gun safety and technique is great @ the Well Armed Woman.

How to Reconstitute Dehydrated foods:
Dehydrating is easy…but what do you do with the food when you want to use it again? Here’s how!

Rechargeable Glow Sticks & Pads
Unlike the chemlites you can get at the dollar store for .50, these rechargeable glow sticks can be used over and over again. They are bright, they come in many sizes and shapes, and are a worthy investment for bug-out bags and camping gear. Let charge during the day, and use them all night long. We have some of the keychain sized glowsticks and love them and definitely want more! This Pin reminded me to add it to my list of things to get. We’ve invested in the disposable ones, but I’d really rather have these.

Learn American Sign Language as an Alternative Communication Skill for Your Family
There may be times when you need to communicate with your family without speaking – whether trying to communicate across a large crowd at the mall, silently signaling during a party, or needing to give each other direction while defending your house against a break-in, ASL is an easy means of doing so, and a really useful second or third language to learn. This Pin reminded me that I really want our family to learn some basic sign language skills past our baby signs that we still use on occasion.

Setting up In Case of Emergency Numbers on Your Cell Phone
If the unthinkable were to happen and I was unresponsive to First Responders, the likelihood that they’d be able to find a contact number for me is remote. Why? Because there’s no indication in my cell phone of WHO my contact number would be. Sure, they’d track it through the emergency network eventually, but how much easier would it be to have this information clearly marked in your cellphone directory?

Teach Your Children How to Navigate
This blog post really spoke to me this week as a reminder to work on our local map skills and map reading for real life, not just for history. We need to get a map of our local area and plan evacuation routes, and challenge them to find the way to our favorite places, plus we need to learn to use our compasses we got for Christmas!

Tacticool Seat Covers
This one really falls under a nerdy pin, because I think I’d be so cool having these in my mom car…I’d only worry that everyone else would want to see what I held in all the pockets, making it a theft issue – but they are cool!
